Biographical or Historical Note
Paul M. Dubbs graduated from Bellefonte High School in 1923 and went on to study engineering at the Pennsylvania State College for two years before joining the staff of The Republican. In the 1930s he started working for the Centre Democrat and remained on its staff for 20 years before becoming executive secretary of Bellefonte Borough. In 1953 he joined The Times as county editor and stayed for 45 years. He authored the book, Where to Go and Place-Names of Centre County, a collection of articles published in The Times in 1959 and 1960.
