Harold J. McWhinnie was a professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, University of Maryland, from 1970 until he retired in 1997. He is a ceramic artist.

Scope and Contents

The collection consists of research papers on art, art education, and art theory from 1901 through 2000 and his brief comments about them. The papers include part of his work, published and unpublished. The collection is also a repository for papers, presentations, and dissertations which he considered to have value to art education and theory. Specific topics include art education; aesthetics; art appreciation; art and the brain; and the uses of technology by and for art.
