Background

Biographical / Historical

The Pennsylvania Alliance for Arts Education was founded in 1973; membership was limited to designees of statewide arts education associations and art education officers of state agencies. Programs specifically included art programming for disabled individuals. In 1982 the association was reorganized as an arts advocacy organization. A revised constitution in 1984 increased the types of membership and provided for working liaisons with state organizations for the advocacy of arts and humanities.
