Summary

Abstract

A renowned art education program began in Penn State's Department of Home Economics in 1945; it became a department in the College of Education by 1957 under Viktor Lowenfeld. In 1979, it became the Art Education Program of the School of Visual Arts within the College of Arts and Architecture.

Scope and Contents

This collection consists primarily of audio (40) and moving image (89) recordings of the Performative Arts Symposium (1996-2001) hosted by the Art Education Program, and oral history interviews of art educators Bea Card Kettlewood and Ted Simanek (2010).
