Abstract
Penn State Eco Action is Penn State's oldest environmental student group. Eco Action was founded by Penn State students in 1970. Eco Action is a student activism group, and its members have advocated for many environmental causes including recycling, renewable energy sources, and Earth Day. This collection includings scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, fliers, and photographs documenting the environmental activism of Eco Action.

Background
Scope and Contents
This collection documents the activism and membership of Penn State Eco Action and includes material created and collected by the student organization. Materials include clippings, fliers, membership lists, photographs, and scrapbooks. Many of the newspaper clippings collected by Eco Action come from the Daily Collegian. This collection documents student activism at Penn State, and includes Earth Day activities, protests, and actions taken by at Penn State to further environmentalism on campus.

Custodial History
Alison Kelly transferred these materials to Penn State in 2017. These materials were created by Penn State Eco Action and maintained by Eco Action officers. As officers left Penn State, possession of these records was transferred from previous officers to the new officers.
Processing Information
This collection was minimally processed at the point of accessioning. In fall 2020, Lexy deGraffenreid minimally processed this collection using the hybrid processing workflow due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She foldered loose materials and titled folders where no title had previously been supplied. She did not impose a physical or intellectual order on the collection and inventoried the collection in physical order.
