Biographical Note
Penn State's College of Arts and Architecture was founded in 1963 by Dr. Jules Heller. The new college combined the School of Fine and Applied Arts and the departments of Architecture and Landscape Architecture from the College of Engineering. The School of Fine and Applied Arts originated in the College of the Liberal Arts in 1955 and included the Departments of Theatre, Music, and Art; it was also affiliated with the Departments of Art Education and Music Education in the College of Education and the Department of Architecture. After significant lobbying by Dr. Heller, the Department of Art History joined the new College of Arts and Architecture. The collection includes a newspaper clippings, newsletters, press releases, promotional publications, event programs, workbooks, urban and facility studies, graduate student and personnel files, meeting minutes, staff and student theses, faculty publication lists, and financial records.

In accordance with FERPA, all student records are restricted for a period of 75 years from the date of their creation.
